Remoting on MS SQL

– Open SQL Configuration Manager

– Select SQL Server Network Configuration, then select appropriate item

– Double-click on TCP/IP, choose Enable -> Yes. Then select tab IP Addresses, the select port to allow connecting (local,all,ip of pc…)

NOTE: Open port 1433 of windows firewall to allow remoting (Open port in windows)

– To remote SQL server:

+ Server type: Database engine

+ Server name: ip/pc name (if there is more than 1 instance, it’s neccessary to point out the specific instance. Ex: sgn-pc01\abcinstance)

+ Authentication: SQL server authentication

+Username/password: sa/xxxxxxx
